Supposed to post this few months back but forgot.

There’s no J.Co Donuts & Coffee here, so don’t be too excited. Had it few months back, bought it all the way from KL with help from a friend.

I’m not sure about the price now. When I had this, one dozen was only RM19.05(include tax it’s RM20), this is West Malaysia’s price. Either one dozen in one box or one dozen separated intow two boxes, the price remained the same unlike the other donut establishment.

Anyway, let’s see what in the box:

Bottom left to right to top:
JCrown Nutella, Don Mochino, Miss Green T, Hazel Dazzel, Al Caponne, Glazzy

Bottom left to right to top:
Caviar Mint, Snow White, Manggo Blitz, Why Nut?, Tira Miss U, Oreology.

For the taste, can’t say much because when it reached Kuching, it was already more than 24 hours and had stayed overnight in the fridge before flying back.

Imperial Duck is located at the same row as Lok Thian. Very easy to spot. It’s opened for business quite a long time ago and I’m sure many of you had heard of the bad and good. Not going to comment much here as this site is only to feature food that we had to you and not to do actual full review unless we are requested to do so.

What we notice is that it’s always packed!

Sorry about the photo, focused the wrong place hehehe…

Cha Seow Puff 3 pcs(RM3.60)

Shanghai Style Pan Fried Dumpling 3 pcs(RM3.60), beware of the soup inside, once you biten it, don’t overturn it or else the soup will all flow out.

Barbecue Pork(three-layer meat), RM8

“Char Seow” with barbecue pork noodle(RM7)

“Char Seow” with Imperial Duck noodle(RM7)

Imperial Duck Hong Kong Style(RM12)

Stewed Combination Rice(RM5.50)

Local kailan cooked with oyster sauce(RM5)

Obviously, this place is not HALAL.

The Tarot Cafe is located at the ex-Two Bananas.

The cafe started its operation on 24th December. It’s just after Shell at Jalan Keretapi which you will not miss as you can see it from the main road. We went there on the 1st day of opening and business was really good.

If you like Bestberry, you will like this also because the concept is the brainchild of the ex-boss of Bestberry. FYI, Bestberry now is under new management.

The crews were busy preparing drinks.

The wall is decorated with framed tarot cards.

以星座而特别调的饮料。

Here’s two drinks from The Tarot Drinks menu. Every card represents different things. The drinks are specially formulated by Chris based on the cards. The one you see here is The Fool(RM7.90) and Strenght(RM6.90).

The Fool’s main ingredient is coconut milk. Lots of longans and sago pearls in there. This is not for those who are concerned about their health.

Strength consists of soda, lemon and shreaded mint leaves.

Tarot Yam Fried Rice(RM4)

Tarot Nyonya Curry Chicken(RM5.50)

The special thing about this place is that you can get Tarot card reading, it’s RM30/session. If you sign up as member, you get 10% discount each time you get your consultation.

Some decorations in the room.

Tarot card is something new in Kuching. However, this is not for the Christians or the Muslim to try. It’s sort of against the faith if I’m not mistaken. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Chris Tan is a certified Tarot card reader and she also provides Feng Shui consultation.

We were lucky to be given a demo.  The money on your palm will curve into a “U” if your money luck is good. However, right palm means money in, left palm means money out. If both sides make a big curve, then you will have problem collecting money, your money will come in as fast as it goes out.

Here’s the temporary member card. If you are interested please call Chris Tan at 016-8648435 or email her at tarot_chris[at]gmail[.]com. You must make an appointment for consultation.

Here’s another new place for karaoke in town called “红馆-Red Coliseum Karaoke“.

Located at Premier 101. It’s somewhere behind. Premier 101 isn’t a very big place so you just go around and you will surely find it.

11am-2pm - RM13 + 1 drink
2pm-6pm - RM20 + 2 drinks
6pm-8pm - RM17 + 2 drinks
8pm-Close - RM28 + 2 drinks

* drink(s) = soft drink or beer

The room that was assigned to us. Quite big.

The Karaoke system is similar to Popwave.

Tian Sian Steamboat is finally in Kuching. Heard many good reviews about it as well the bad ones. It’s located at Jalan Tun Jugah. Very easy to spot, it’s just next to a boutique and you can see it from the main road right after you come down from Simpang Tiga flyover.

The place looked pretty classy. It’s a type of mongolian herbal steamboat. You don’t get dipping sauce here, this is what makes them special and different from the rest.

The interior.

The menu. When we were there, many things were not available.

You can opt for vegetarian, spicy or original soup base. Small is RM30 and big is RM35. The difference is the amount of herbs used in the soup. They claimed that you won’t get thirsty eating this steamboat and it’s true. We had difficulty finishing our drinks after that.

There’s also combo pot which wasn’t available when we were there.

Lamb shoulder (RM21), one of the things we ordered.

We ordered two types of meats, lamb(above), pork shoulder(RM13), beancurd(RM7), golden needle mushroom(RM7), white cabbage(RM7), and two bowls of plain rice(RM2/each).

:: Heineken(small)  - RM10

We also ordered two glasses of tinned green tea(RM5/each)

Total spent was RM119.90, inclusive of 10%, I’m sure you will “sweat” now seeing the price. Be prepared with money when you go there, it’s a very high end steamboat place. Do you think it can survive long in Kuching?

Yesterday was the opening of new branch of bing! at Premier 101. The first 100 customers would get the 10% discount card.

This is how the new bing! looks like. Just downstair of Blonde Series.

Flowers from all the well wishers.

It’s much spacier than the one at Padungan.

This is the card that I mentioned just now.

Hot Caramel, RM9

White Mocha Iced Blended, RM12.50.

Now, you don’t have to go to Padungan for your coffee fix.

Here’s their website: http://www.bingcoffee.com/

So sorry for the very late update but it’s good to be late too because you have to check out Ten Ichi’s 12th Anniversary contest. (We just got news that it’s postponed. They will have it in January 2009. Very sorry for the inconveniences caused.)

The handroll is back by popular demand:

Sushi Handroll In Three Kinds -RM9.90

Alaska Maki -RM19.90 (normal price is RM26.00), see those sashimi? Very thick right? Where can you get such thick slab and chunk of sashimi with this price?

Izakaya Set A - RM22.90 (normal price is RM35.00)

Izakaya Set B - RM36.90 (normal price is RM55)

Sashimi Bento - RM39.90 (normal price is RM56), this is a very colourful and nicely presented bento. Great for sharing. In fact, this month’s promotions are really great for sharing.

Matsuri Sushi On Boat - RM49.90 (normal price is RM65), I’m sure many people will go for this. It’s so worth it! In fact we’ve been waiting for this to be on offer and finally they put it on offer.

See the number of sushi? Where can you get such sushi with such price? They are big and I can guarantee that you won’t be able to eat them in one bite for the average mouth ;p

Make sure you make early reservation to dine here this month to avoid disappointments.

By the way, Ten Ichi is HALAL certified.

Mitsu Shabu Shabu is opened quite a while ago but no chance to go until few days back.

Located behind Atmosfera Cafe. It’s at the shops opposite tHe Spring and next to Swinburne.

There’s two sections, smoking and non-smoking.

We ordered these instead of going for the shabu-shabu:

Indian Fried Noodle(RM5), it’s quite spicy, not for those can’t tolerate spiciness.

Fair Lady Noodle(RM5), it’s on the sweeter note.

Fried Noodle with BBQ Sauce(RM5), a bit spicy.

By the way, this place is HALAL coz we saw the cert.

Dec 11

This is located just behind Green Bento.

They serve fast food and if not mistaken, there’s chicken rice also. Not sure whether it’s open already or not. Just to let you know this is one new place that is going to be opened(or already opened). ;)
